Steve Silseth went to taxidermy school
at the International Institute of Scientific Taxidermy in Nisswa,
MN in 1986..."I enjoy doing birds and deer but specialize
in fish. I liked fish from the start and won third place at
the ND show the next year.. it was a 3 ribbon competition, only
1st 2nd and 3rd... Each year I came back and did a little better,
soaking up all the info I could, studying fish at seminars and
just talking to other taxidermists at shows ....I have an aquarium
with fish for reference and have had about every fish native
to ND except sturgeons and paddle fish.. I have won over 120
awards in state, world, and international competitions.. I tied
for best international fish, won best of categories in the master
division in Montana, North Dakota, and Minnesota...." |
